First Day, 8.7.2012.

As soon as all the participants arrived at the Hotel Aleksandra, the event started!

First day was dedicated to get to know each other through some games and working in teams. These included:

• Ice-breaking games. It’s not easy to learn everyone’s name!

• The Rope game

• ‘I Love you’ in 10 languages.

• Building the tallest paper tower.

• Game on different kinds of communication.

 

In the second part of the day, each participant choose one of the workshops offered by the organisation (i.e. Photography, break dance, graffiti, Internet and social networks) according to their preference.

 

Second Day, 9.7.2012.

Main activity for the day was the Photohunt which was held at Nis center. Participants were divided into 4 groups, each from different countries.

Before the photohunt the photography trainer, Nick gave a presentation with useful tips which can help produce a good photo. After, everyone left for Nis and got to know the city, history, stories and its intercultural diversity.

For lunch, we gather for a picnic at the Fortess park and tasted a typical Serbian sandwich.

All the photos taken during the day were used to produce a short presentation about Nis and its symbols: Burek, Kalca, Street art, different ethnicities and the Serbian Language. Kako si? Osecam se Dobro! :)

 

Third Day. 10.07.2012.

In the morning we were divided into groups to work on Street Culture topic.

Tasks assigned were:

• To choose our group name and design a logo

• Choose a group event and design the poster to promote it.

• To create a small choreography

• To compose some hip hop rhymes to rap during presentation

 

In the afternoon, all of the groups presented their work.

Then, each one of us worked with the trainer of our chosen workshop (dance, graffiti, social media and photography).

In the evening, we organized the famous ‘Intercultural Night’ where every country presented their typical dishes cooked by the participants using the hotel kitchen.

… and finally party!!!

 

Fourth Day, 11.07.2012.

In the morning, we had a workshop about intercultural communication.

Each group had to come up with visible and invisible aspects of Culture using the Ice Berg model and then, we had a discussion carried out by our trainer on intercultural communication barriers. After this, a presentation was given about intercultural communication through social network.

Free Afternoon!! .. some went shopping, some took a siesta and some chilled by the pool!

In the evening a great dinner on a local Kafana!

 

Fifth Day, 12.07.2012.

The morning started with team building “games” at Bubanj park. Afterwards we talked about “Lejla and Muhamed” story and discussed stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination. We released symbolic balloons with messages to the world.

In the afternoon we worked in our groups (photography, graffiti, dance and social networks) preparing to the big event.

At night we went to dinner at the Fortress where were supposed to be a party but the rain stopped us from that.

 

Sixth Day, 13.07.2012.

How excited were we today? The much anticipated event ‘DODJI NA AMFI’ had finally arrived.

The event was held at the Amphitheater situated on the Nisava river bank.

Photos taken by the photography group during their training were exhibited; the theme of the photos being ‘Intercultural Dialogue’. This event aimed to present street culture as a method for the promotion of intercultural dialogue, therefore the audience had the opportunity to see hip hop performances, graffiti artists, dance schools, skaters, bikers, acrobatic group USB, as well as a basketball tournament 1 vs 1. The dance group of our training course had the opportunity to perform the dance they had prepared during the week. They danced to the song ‘Beggin’ by Madcon which can be considered as the theme song of our training course!

 

 

Seventh Day, 14.07.2012.

The Last day was held in a different working room. Everybody gather in groups and made presentations We discussed Youth in action program – EVS, general principles and objectives, Youth exchanges and Trainings and Networking, as well as Youthpass. Every participant created his/her own Youthpass too.

After lunch we evaluated the Training Course and how it was held. And then we wrote messages to each other.

In the evening a farewll party (foam party) was held in Club “Spark” (btw, lot’s of fun)
