From April 20th to 23rd, 2026, an International seminar on testing the developed Guidelines took place in Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸, coordinated by Barcel’hona Sports Events. The seminar gathered basketball coaches, social workers, caregivers, and people with intellectual disabilities, ensuring strong inclusion. Through a mix of presentations, icebreaking activities, and interactive sessions, participants explored the structure and content of the Guidelines while engaging in non-formal education methods.
The program focused on practical testing, including adaptive basketball sessions, allowing participants to exchange experiences and better understand intellectual disabilities. At the same time, selected participants worked on planning local pilot actions with direct input from people with ID. The seminar concluded with an evaluation process that provided valuable feedback, leading to the refinement of the Guidelines and the development of an international seminar report.
