The project Serve, Set, Empower proudly introduces its key result – the Guidelines for the Promotion of Gender Equality in and through Volleyball. Developed by an international team of experts, this practical resource combines volleyball-specific knowledge with non-formal education methods to support inclusive, mixed-gender participation in sport. The Guidelines are now available in five languages – English, Greek, Serbian, North Macedonian, and Croatian – ensuring wide accessibility and impact across partner countries and communities.
Designed for coaches, players, and organizations, the Guidelines offer clear and applicable tools for building inclusive teams, improving coaching practices, and promoting gender equality both on and off the court. Covering everything from understanding gender dynamics to managing mixed-gender teams and engaging local communities, this publication represents a strong step forward in creating a more equal and inclusive volleyball environment.
Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) – Serbia, together with its partner volleyball clubs: OK “Desetka” – Serbia, Athlos Orestiadas – Greece, OK FORCA VOLEJ – North Macedonia, OK Pula – Croatia, implements project “Serve, Set, Empower: Advancing Equality Through Volleyball” in order to address issues of gender inequality through development of new and innovative guidelines for mixed-gender teams’ volleyball. This initiative will develop guidelines for promoting gender equality within team sports, specifically volleyball, using non-formal education methods; empower youth through volleyball by providing an inclusive and equal opportunity for both girls and boys to participate; and raise awareness on gender equality issues within local communities through targeted campaigns and workshops involving youth, parents, and coaches. Project activities will be organized in Croatia, Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia in the period 01.10.2025 to 31.12.2026. Project “Serve, Set, Empower” is co-financed by the European Union.
