We are proud to share the Deliverable 3 Report of our project “Building Bridges – Wheelchair Basketball”, which highlights the international training held in Barcelona, Spain, and the subsequent local testing activities implemented across five partner countries — Spain, Serbia, Portugal, Ireland, and North Macedonia.
The international training gathered 22 experts, including coaches, professors, physical therapists, and athletes, who worked together to validate and test the newly developed Manual for Wheelchair Basketball. Led by top professionals such as Óscar Trigo Diez, the sessions combined theoretical insights with on-court practice, promoting wheelchair basketball as both a sport and a tool for inclusion.
Following the training, each partner organization conducted local testing activities between July and September 2025. These sessions engaged over 120 participants, integrating the Manual into real club environments, universities, and community events. The results confirmed its value as a comprehensive and adaptable resource for coaches and athletes at all levels.
The activities not only strengthened professional competences but also raised awareness about the importance of wheelchair basketball for inclusion, empowerment, and social participation.
