From 21st to 24th January 2026, a Study Visit and Shadowing of the Croatian National Wheelchair Handball Team was successfully held in Osijek, Croatia, hosted by KIFOS. During this three-day activity, participants from partner organizations gained first-hand experience of wheelchair handball by closely following the national team, composed of wheelchair basketball players from clubs under HSKUK. The visit provided practical insight into the structure of games and tournaments, pace of play, team strategies, official rules and their adaptations for wheelchair use, as well as the organization of training sessions and competitive events. This experience significantly strengthened partners’ understanding of wheelchair handball, enhanced their practical skills, fostered collaboration and networking, and contributed to the creation of a work plan for the development of the Wheelchair Handball Manual.

Croatian Wheelchair Basketball Association (HSKUK) from Croatia together with its partners, Faculty of Kinesiology of Osjek (KIFOS) from Croatia, Barcel’hona Sports Events from Spain and Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) from Serbia implements the project “Wheelchair Handball – Start Up” in order to raise awareness about this sport and provide more opportunities for social inclusion in and through sport of people with disabilities.
