Global Media & Information Literacy Week: Multiplier Event on Media Literacy Empowered Manual
This year’s theme, “The New Digital Frontiers of Information: Media and Information Literacy for Public Interest Information,” emphasizes the urgent need to equip individuals with critical thinking skills.
In celebration of Global Media & Information Literacy Week, we hosted an Multiplier Event to present our Media Literacy Empowered Manual. This comprehensive guide offers a valuable framework for educators, youth workers, and institutions dedicated to promoting media literacy and critical thinking among young people.
Beyond Borders Italy– Italy in cooperation with Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) – Serbia and AAsociación Socio-Cultural VerdeSur Alcalá(ASCVA) – Spain implements the project “Media Literacy Empowered” through a series of activities aimed at developing new methodologies and tools to increase media literacy among young people, youth workers and other relevant target groups.
Main objective: Raise young people’s awareness of the importance of media literacy.
Specific objectives:
Develop new methodologies for working with youth in media literacy and combatting oppressive media content.
Equip youth workers, teachers, and educators with innovative tools to counteract negative media effects.
Promote ethical youth media coverage in Italy, Serbia, and Spain.
The project “Media Literacy Empowered” is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme and co-financed by the Italian Youth Agency.
