Local workshops within the project Creativity in the Service of Interethnic Understanding and Cooperation were held in Niš and brought together young volunteers of the Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (COM 018) who studied and worked together on the topic of interculturalism and intercultural dialogue. This activity is one of the planned project activities and it was organized after the training which brought together young people from three ethnic groups, young Roma people, Albanians and Serbs. In Niš, we were first introduced to concepts that are closely related to the topic of the project. We started the workshops by introducing ourselves to the program, the organizers and other participants. Together we learned about the problems that arise in intercultural communication, but we also learned how to overcome them. We were introduced to different aspects of culture and worked together to break down prejudices and stereotypes that often lead to discrimination. All these thematic workshops allowed us to create a good base of knowledge and information that we used in creative workshops. We were divided into creative groups (music, mobile reporting and graphics) and started the development of creative workshops that will promote: equality and tolerance for all cultures, mutual understanding and promotion of human rights and the eradication of discrimination. We created a song, a video for a song, dozens of graphic products and several video clips. All products have the same message that is in line with the goals of the project, which is precisely inter-ethnic understanding and cooperation. This project is especially important for young people in our local community as they live, learn and work with other cultures, and it is of great importance to promote tolerance and interest in what makes one culture different from others.
