World Humanitarian Day 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2023 was the deadliest year on record for humanitarian workers. \"\ud83c\udfe5\"\"\ud83d\udc94\" 2024 could be even worse. \"\ud83d\ude14\" These facts lay bare a glaring truth: the world is failing humanitarian workers and, by extension, the people they serve. \"\ud83c\udf0d\"\"\ud83d\udc69\u200d\u2695\ufe0f\"\"\ud83d\udc68\u200d\u2695\ufe0f\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite universally accepted international laws to regulate the conduct of armed conflict and limit its impact, violations of these laws continue unabated, unchallenged and unchecked. \"\u2696\ufe0f\"\"\ud83d\udeab\" And while civilians, including <\/a>aid workers, pay the ultimate price, the perpetrators continue to evade justice. \"\ud83d\udc94\"\"\ud83d\udd0d\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This failure of those in power cannot be allowed to continue. \"\ud83d\udeab\"\"\ud83d\udc65\" Attacks on humanitarian workers and humanitarian assets must stop. \"\ud83d\udea8\"\"\ud83d\udc94\" Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure must stop. \"\ud83d\uded1\"\"\ud83c\udfe0\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This World Humanitarian Day, we demand an end to these violations and the impunity with which they are committed. \"\ud83d\udce2\"\"\u270a\" It is time for those in power to end impunity and #ActForHumanity<\/a>. \"\ud83c\udf0d\"\"\ud83d\udcaa\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
