In the morning we started the day with an energizer, to raise a little bit the energy in the group, considering that some participants arrived late in the night. After filling up our minds with energy, we started to get to know each other a little better. We made \u201cnon-formal passports\u201d for each other and portraits so we have a face to associate to the names.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And because a lot of people with a lot of names need a game to help them remember their names, we also had name games.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon we did team-building activities in order to prepare ourselves for the upcoming workshops, workshops which will be based on group work. We had to save our eggs, we tested our knowledge about Serbia, and we built towers from screws and so on. The games paid off since at the end of the day we knew some more names and felt more comfortable with each other.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening we got a chance to present the Ngo\u2019s that are part of the project and after that we used music as a tool to socialize a little bit more at the welcome party.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"letterboxedImage photoWrap\">\n<div class=\"uiScaledImageContainer scaledImage\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"scaledImageFitHeight img\" src=\"https:\/\/fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net\/hphotos-ak-xfp1\/t31.0-8\/p480x480\/10623695_10152479713543145_628125839997913486_o.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Play For Peace&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;Day 1&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;01.09.2014.&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;The first day of the project Play for Peace was quite interesting. Which was photo hunting around the beautiful city of Nis. Some of the assignments consisted in taking pictures in an unusual way, finding the most beautiful spot in the city etc. It also provided the members of the group with historical information about Nis. We were divided into two football teams and asked to create our own team flags, songs and names. It was a real success because we enjoyed. The activity we did was related to stereotypes, how we tend to follow the group and not think for ourselves. The Albatros game was meant to make us understand that things are not always what they seam and we shouldn&#8217;t judge people at their first appearance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After that we started to plan some local activities using FARE program. We started developing our small projects and we scheduled them for the future. As it appears, we discovered a new tool to use sports for promotion of fight against racism and discrimination.<br \/>\nIn the afternoon we got physical because we visited a local martial arts gym were we learned different types of martial arts. Self-defense, judo are just a couple of them.
