MANIFEST OMLADINSKOG SEKTORA.PDF
We inform you that the National Youth Council of Serbia (KOMS), with the support of the National Association of Youth Work Practitioners (NAPOR), has created the Manifesto of the Youth Sector of Serbia, which warns of the systematic violation of youth rights, the increasing presence of violence, and the institutional exclusion of young people from decision-making processes.
The Manifesto highlights that young people in Serbia are exposed to pressures, threats, and physical attacks, particularly following the start of student blockades in November of last year. By February 20, 73 attacks on youth were recorded, including arrests, hate speech, and intimidation of activists. At the same time, the youth sector faces labelling and discreditation, while institutions often remain passive or fail to respond adequately.
The organizations demand respect for the constitutionally guaranteed rights of youth, the inclusion of young people in decision-making processes, and an urgent response from institutions to all forms of violence and repression.
We demand:
The immediate fulfilment of students’ demands,
Respect for human rights guaranteed by the Constitution,
A state that actively and equally includes young people in decision-making processes,
An encouraging environment for the development of youth as active citizens.
With this document, signed by 116 organizations and individuals, KOMS aims to highlight the specific needs and demands of young people in Serbia and to urge institutions to respond appropriately in line with the real challenges faced by the youth.
