In April 2018 KOM organized a training for high school students from 4 high schools – 1st Nis Gymnasium “Stevan Sremac”, Gymnasium “Bora Stankovic”, “Gastronomy and tourism high school” and “High School of Mechanical Engineering” and volunteers of KOM 018. Training provided participants with necessary skills and competences in the field of youth safety focusing on peer violence, bullying and discrimination. Participants discussed the safety in the local context, defined the problems and offered solutions. They were trained as peer educators who would later organize peer education workshops and focus groups in their schools and organization. Training is the activity within “SigurNi” project supported by European Youth Foundation, Council of Europe. Project aims to contribute to the development of a security culture of young people and strengthening the cooperation between institutions and civil society in addressing youth security and safety issues in the City of Nis.
